CONCOURS : Maudit soit le jour

CONTEST: Cursed be the Day

Written by Cinéma Excentris, published on 5 January 2012

Maudit soit le jour (Cursed be the day) written and directed by Montreal’s own Emmet Walsh will show on January 6 and 7 at 9:00pm in the original bilingual version. With a visual style reminiscent of both American Film Noir and the French Nouvelle Vague, the audience is introduced in a playful manner to the world of cinema that reflects upon itself. Many references both literal and indirect abound with the use of stylistic anecdotes, historical references, and contemporary issues.

To highlight the release of his first feature film, Emmet Walsh will be here on Friday and Saturday to introduce his film and to answer questions afterwards. Don’t miss this opportunity to gain some insight into the world of independent filmmaking in Quebec.

The Cinéma Excentris is taking advantage of the occasion to offer you a chance to win one of five double passes to one or the other of these two special screenings. To participate, simply write to: info@cinemaexcentris.com and name a film by David Cronenberg that was shot in Montreal.

Good luck!
